Ella holds her drawing up. Mum is looking at her phone. A silent animated short about what a child learns from watching a parent scroll. Seven-year-old Ella brings her mum a drawing, a Star of the Week certificate and a bedtime story. Each time, the phone buzzes first. Months later Ella gets a hand-me-down phone, and the two of them sit on the same sofa, bent over the same way. Mum only sees it through the window. No narration. The story is told with black silhouettes, a signal-bars meter that drops every time attention goes to the screen, and one long breath where the music stops.
